Nine Dragons Restaurant opened in 1985, three years after Epcot debuted. This table-service dining location sits in the China Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. Its name references the Nine Dragons Wall in Beijing’s Forbidden City, and the menu pays homage to a variety of Chinese provinces, with dishes designed to reflect flavors from across China. Despite its beauty and history, this is often the restaurant many Disney World fans choose to skip when picking a sit-down spot at Epcot. It’s interesting because Nine Dragons currently holds a 4.2-star rating on Google, yet if you ask a Disney fan where to dine in Epcot, this is frequently mentioned as a place to avoid. As for us, we’ve enjoyed our experiences here. However, we’ve never considered it a must-do, nor have we felt the cuisine was particularly elevated. In fact, we’ve often thought that Chinese restaurants back home in New York offer higher-quality fast-casual dishes than what you’ll find at Nine Dragons. Despite this, we wanted to give this restaurant a fair review. Before this video, we had never produced a formal dining review here and felt Nine Dragons deserved its own spotlight. In this video, we cover the history, décor, ambiance, signature dishes, and overall experience at Epcot’s Nine Dragons Restaurant. At the end, we ask a big question: does this restaurant deserve a better reputation?
