The Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort opened in 2024 bringing with it, an incredible new lounge called Wailulu Bar & Grill. Initially, this table-service bar and eatery was only available via a walk-up list, but reservations have recently been introduced; along with a full Walt Disney World menu makeover. New additions include a Grilled Octopus appetizer, plus entrées like Garlic Shrimp Noodles and a Kālua Pork Shank. Fan favorites like the Wayfinder Burger, Musubi, Grilled Shishito Peppers, and the Ahi Tuna Bowl are still on the menu. Honestly, when The Walt Disney Company first announced this new Disney Vacation Club tower, we were skeptical, but after our first visit to Wailulu, we changed our tune pretty quickly. The restaurant sits in a prime location, offering incredible views of Magic Kingdom Park, including Cinderella Castle and the surrounding resorts along the Seven Seas Lagoon. We set out to try all the new menu items to see how they stack up against the classics. Along the way, we cover how to get here, the design of the Island Tower, the restaurant’s overall aesthetic, and whether this lounge is a can’t-miss Walt Disney World restaurant.
